Hizmi once again demonstrates a mastery of their tools. Soak is complicated with carefully crafted synthetic soundscapes. In the beginning glitches evolve into ambient grooves that later become techno. This changes back to more exploratory floating beats. From start to finish Soak sounds like Hizmi. It’s unique, restrained, and exceptional. Despite being made on an old computer, the album rivals modern electronic albums by simply exploring the machine’s furthest limits. Nothing is like it.
